Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Plant in Jebel Ali Power Station

The Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Plant at Jebel Ali Power Station, which has a capacity of 182,000 cubic metres per day, is the first desalination project by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) to use reverse osmosis technology. This project focused on the water treatment aspect, as well as the marine, civil, mechanical and electrical works necessary for the plant to be fully operational. With a 28-month delivery programme set by DEWA for this complex project, a detailed construction methodology was developed to address potential complications, streamlining the process and making the project achievable. As a partner to the main contractor, JAD played its part effectively in delivering the required services by providing supply chain and logistical support in a time-sensitive manner.
