Dubai Municipality Project GS0003 – Solid Waste to Energy

This project, led by Dubai Municipality, involves the design, build, finance and maintenance of the Dubai Waste-to-Energy plant, one of the largest plants of its kind in the world. The facility, consisting of five processing lines, will process 1.9 million tonnes of municipal solid waste per year to generate 200 MW of sustainable thermal energy. At the peak of the works, 2,500 workers will be deployed and the site will use up to 16 tower cranes, including some of the world’s largest. As a Build-Operate-Transfer contract, this ambitious public-private partnership involves not only a tailor-made design and construction, but also management of the facilities’ operations and maintenance for 35 years. JAD’s involvement in this iconic project starts with partnering with the main contractor and extends to providing complete supply chain and logistics support, with the highest safety standards.
