The award-winning Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant Expansion Project (Phase 2) was implemented to accommodate the continuous growth of the city. The project aimed to increase the plant’s capacity from 300,000 to 600,000 cubic metres per day. Dubai Municipality won first place in the International Water Reuse and Recycling Award, organised by the International Desalination Association, with the Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant Expansion Project (Phase 2) winning the award in the Exceptional Utility Leader category. The award aims to achieve sustainable development through the use of Artificial Intelligence technology, which reduces energy consumption and, in turn, greenhouse gas emissions. JAD was instrumental in supporting the project by sponsoring the main contractor and providing supply chain and logistical support.
